Thunder Shad® are the finest hand-crafted balsa wood crankbaits available on the market today. These beautiful baits are unique in today's mass-market world. You'll appreciate the fine quality details from the Gamakatsu hooks to the hand painted finish.

There are currently 10 different models of Thunder Shad® that we build and they are available in 37 different hand-painted colors. Many of these baits were designed to fish the waters you live near, representing many different areas of the country.

Gamakatsu hooks are used exclusively. Why would you ever buy a bait just to change the hooks? With these quality hooks, just watch them closely, they're sharp!

The oval split rings extend the bite and allow for free swivel action. The result is better, more solid hookups and less thrown baits! We use the same high quality oval split rings to tie to the eye. This swivels free and allows the wobble the bait was designed with to be unimpeded by the line.


MODEL 404
The model 404, called the Grandma is new to Thunder Shad® and fishes very well. The model 404 was designed to run 0 - 4 ft. and has a square bill. The fat body of the 404 gives it a higher float, slam it into cover or structure, pause and hang on.



The Grandfather square bill (504) has a tighter wobble and is preferred when retrieving the lure fast. The square bill works better in clearer to murky water conditions. The round bill of the 506 works better in murky to muddy water conditions or when retrieving the lure slower because of its wider wobble and increased water displacement characteristics.
